Not every restoration is a rescue. This family home in Upper Sandusky was in fair shape — the finish had simply run its course, and the house was due for a proper refinish before small problems had a chance to become big ones.

We gave it a full media blast, taking the whole exterior back to bare timber. That's the step that determines everything after it. We made caulk repairs where joints had opened up, closing the gaps that let in drafts and water. Then Perma-Chink stain in Dark Natural, a warm brown that reads as wood rather than a coating, and a gloss topcoat over everything to take the UV load and give the finish its depth.
